Introducing Horizon Line Conversations

September 28, 2026

I’m starting something new: a series of conversations with executives navigating the biggest transitions of a career.

Recently out of work. Still in the chair but asking different questions. Approaching retirement. Living in it. And the decisions along the way that we keep thinking about years later.

About this series: the people you’ll meet here are composites drawn from my conversations with clients. They represent real people and real situations, but no individual can be identified.

Each story is a starting point. Over the coming months I’ll be interviewing executives at every stage of career transition: recently out of work, later in career, approaching retirement, and in retirement. I want the real versions of these stories.

If one of them sounds like yours, I’d like to hear it. Anonymity is always available. You can reach me at jim@horizonlineadvisory.com.

Begin

Start with a conversation, not a pitch.

Every engagement begins with an unhurried conversation to understand where you are and whether this is the right fit, for both of us.
